AWS marketplace listing checklist: what to verify before purchase

A strong AWS-related listing should present verifiable facts clearly and avoid promises about future quotas or service availability.

1. Check the exact service

Distinguish general AWS listings from service-specific products such as Amazon EC2 or Amazon SES.

2. Compare structured specifications

For EC2 this may include a stated vCPU quota. For Amazon SES it may include Region, daily sending limit and maximum send rate.

3. Review stock and quantity

Marketplace stock should reflect the current number of units available. Checkout quantity should never exceed current inventory.

4. Review delivery and support

Read the delivery notes and understand how order-linked support works before making payment.

5. Check current provider terms

Provider policies can change. Buyers and sellers are responsible for confirming that a proposed transfer is lawful and permitted.
